At Punk PC, we take power seriously. Because when a PSU goes bad, it doesn’t just shut off your PC . It can take half your components with it.

The PSU Is the Heart of Your Rig

Think of your PSU as your PC’s heart. It feeds clean, stable power to every part of your system. Starve it, and everything else suffers. Cheap out, and you’re gambling with the health of your whole setup.

We’ve seen it too many times: a budget “600W” PSU that can’t deliver half its rated wattage, random shutdowns under load, even the occasional puff of smoke. You won’t catch that kind of junk anywhere near a Punk PC.

Why Quality Matters

Only use power supplies from brands that pass proper testing and meet strict efficiency and safety standards. That means 80+ Gold rated units at a minimum, sometimes Platinum if the build demands it.

Gold doesn’t just mean bragging rights. It means your PSU runs cooler, wastes less power, and lasts longer. It also means you won’t hear it whining like a jet engine every time your GPU spins up.

Headroom, Not Hype

We always build with headroom. That means if your system draws 500 watts under load, you’re getting a PSU rated for at least 550 to 600. We leave around 10 percent extra capacity so your system isn’t running flat out all the time.

Planning future upgrades? We overspec the PSU slightly so you can drop in a new GPU later without needing a new power supply. Because thinking ahead is part of doing it right.

What Not To Do

Don’t use unknown brands, don’t trust fake wattage labels, and don’t go near anything that skimps on safety features. No grey-market “750W” units that cost £30, no corner cutting, and no excuses.

Your PSU is the one component where we’ll never compromise, because one failure here can destroy everything else.
